WISHING NDI ORUMBA HAPPY LOVERS DAY

Engr. Prince Promise Nnanyereugo Ike

Greetings, my beloved Ndi Orumba North & South. Happy seeing us alive to witness this day. HAPPY LOVERS DAY TO YOU ALL.

Today, meditating on my love for Orumba, it reminds me of our great patriarchs who showed much love for the zone, Orumba, in their lifetime. They spent their time and resources developing the zone. They gave Orumba a pride of place, such that mentioning  Orumba in those days evoked serious respect anywhere in Anambra State. To them, Orumba matters.

Am talking of the likes of High Chief MN Ugochukwu (Abilikete of Orumba and Igwe of Igboland),  Chief Dr Alex Ekwueme (Ide Aguata na Orumba), Chief TN Madu of Owerriezukala, Awgu Nwaenwe n'Isulo, Chief Ebenezer Onuigbo of Akpu, and many others.

On behalf of myself, my family, my companies and my NGO (PRINCE ONYENDOZI FOUNDATION), I use this special day of love to pay a glowing tribute to them and all other lovers of Orumba.

My earnest desire and prayer is that the old glorious days of Orumba shall return.

God bless Orumba North & South.

ONYENDOZI ORUMBA

*ONYENDOZI - A PROMISING BUD FOR THE GREATNESS OF ORUMBA PEOPLE*

By Okey Emmanuel
(@okey.ODEWAIWAI.com)

When Christ came, tantalizing the Jews with uncommon power and miracles from God, the perplexed religious Jews could not but wonder aloud: This is Elijah! Yes, the Jews had waited for the long prophesied coming back of Elijah, many years after the great prophet died.

In the like manner, Ndi Orumba have been yawning for a coming back of their great souls like Nwafor Ugochukwu (Ugofoam), Chief Ebenezer Onuigbo, the great Awgu na Isulo, T N Madu from Owerre-Ezukala, Chief Dr Alex Ekwueme, etc. These were men who spoke eloquently and loudly for Orumba when Orumba was standing tall among comity of peoples in Igbo land.

Prince Promise Nnanyereugo Chinwike Ike, better known as *Onyendozi,*  -  a man that has the blood  of Orumba greatness running through his humble nerves - promises to be that young bud emerging from the old stock.

He may not sound like the tintinnabulation of an early morning church bell, but his show of love and concern for the common man in Orumba is already spreading like an aromatic butter on a sumptuous breakfast bread.

Perhaps, the best way to describe him is with the bible's prophecy of
Isaiah 53:2 "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he has no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him."

Though born in a royal home of Chief and Mrs Caleb Ike (Onowu Ezira, Orumba South LGA), Onyendozi chose to live a humble life in preference to swimming through the privileges of his royal birth. Indeed, in Prince Promise is a case of a boy, though born with silver spoon in his mouth, chose to dine with his bare fingers alongside the common people.

Onyendozi attended his primary school at St James Wisdom Foundation Primary School Onitsha, Awada Obosi, and his secondary school was at Bishop Crowther  Seminary Awka. These foundational Christian schools contributed so much in modelling him along the path of humble and caring life.

He later had his university education at Anambra State University, Uli Campus, where he studied Mechanical Engineering.

Fate and divine providence took the promising Prince Promise to China after his graduation. It was while working as the CEO of PROCHRIS GLOBAL ENTERPRISE in China that God, by his infinite grace, led him to discover his calling in humanitarian service. Thereafter, he founded the Prince ONYENDOZI Foundation through which he has touched many lives.

Thousands of Ndi Orumba, especially the vulnerable - youths and the aged - are today happily spreading the good news of Onyendozi's philanthropy. For example, during the Covid 19 era, Onyendozi Foundation brought unforgettable relief to the drowning lives of many poor and needy in Orumba. The Foundation's Covid 19 Food Relief package could remind Bible students of Pharoah's maize pyramid during Joseph's reign in Egypt. We also heard the voice of widows praising the Almighty for a descent roof over their heads as Onyendozi built and delivered 3-bedroom bungalow for them.

For Orumba youths, Onyendozi Foundation is a source of succour to their youthful adventures. The annual football cup competition sponsored by the Foundation gives teeming Orumba youths the hope that source of happiness has not entirely eluded them in Nigeria. Many other youths from Orumba have also received various forms of empowerment from the foundation. Little wonder the National Youth Council of Nigerian (NYCN) recently honoured Prince (Engr.) Promise Ike with an Award of Recognition. Certainly, the youths are by this simply telling Onyendozi that his labours in touching lives positively are not passing unnoticed.

Indeed, Onyendozi is touching lives in Orumba and Ndi Orumba are watching. Through this young man, there is hope rising that God shall bring back the lost glory of Orumba in Anambra State. Only the future will tell.

SOLUDO'S TRANSFORMATIONAL REGIME: WHAT ADVISERS MUST KNOW

SOLUDO'S TRANSFORMATIONAL REGIME: WHAT ADVISERS MUST KNOW

By Okey Emmanuel

Recently, I was driving on the street of Lagos with my Google Voice Road Guide on. It just occurred to me that most times when Google would ask me to turn left or right I intentionally disregard its advice.

True, the Google guide is always right but for one reason or the other I chose not to obey it - not because I wanted to be stubborn or arrogant but because there are things I know that my wonderful, impeccable adviser/guide did not know.

But one thing that surprises me is that this great expert on road network does not take offense, grumble or even protest and, perhaps, threaten to boycott its role after I have disobeyed it. Rather, it goes on and on in its responsibility. Google simply understands that its role is advisory and not command.

This is one lesson that experts in advisory must know especially the enthusiastic professionals who are poised to advise Prof. Soludo. Of course the governor-elect has given an open invitation to all meaning Ndi Anambra and beyond to bring their expertise to assist in the enormous job of transforming Anambra - a task he has sworn to undertake. In the words of Mr Joe Anatune, Soludo's Chief Media aid, "Ndi Anambra are welcome to partner with the new administration using their time, talent and treasure".

It is interesting to note that so many Anambra professionals are showing interest in heeding to this call but one thing is certain - not all the advice administered must see the light of the day. All will end at the table of His Excellency whose job it is to decipher which to accept and which to keep-in-view or trash outrightly.

Like my Google guide, those whose advice are not accepted should not see the rejection as failure in their expertise but as being overtaken by certain circumstances. For instance, I may have chosen to take left against Google's expert advice perhaps because I need to pick up some cash from my bank on the left street or drop off an invoice in a client's office. These, my adviser would certainly not be privy to. In fact, there could be a number of reasons why my decision runs perpendicular to the expert's advice.

Nonetheless, let's join hands in the building of our dream prosperous Anambra with Prof Cee Cee Soludo as the chief driver.

SOLUDO'S TRANSITION TEAM: SIGN POST OF NEW ECONOMIC RENAISSANCE IN THE SOUTH EAST - by Okey Emmanuel

SOLUDO'S TRANSITION TEAM: SIGN POST OF NEW ECONOMIC RENAISSANCE IN THE SOUTH EAST - by Okey Emmanuel

One thing that always stands out in every vision-minded decision is the absence mediocrity of the mind.

The erudite scholar and Scientist, Albert Einstein puts it more aptly, "Great spirits have always encountered opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinion courageously and honestly".

Obviously, the widely publicized Transition Team of Anambra Governor elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo - billed to take off on 20th January 2022 - is a clear signpost of a man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices. Expectedly, mediocres in Nigeria's economic and political spectrum are already viewing this courageous decision as an avalanche breach of convention.

Yes, the economic maestro has gone out of convention to include some members of his 80 man transition committee from outside his state and political party. Mouths are already 'wagging' that Prof Soludo has abandoned some party faithfuls who assisted him in winning the election and had gone ahead to include some elements from opposition party, and even persons outside the state. To them, this unconventional.

But no one has faulted him on the quality and calibre of persons that make up this crack team. From the chair of the team, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili, down the list, one can see a conglomeration of technocrats and great achievers who have made indelible marks globally in their professional callings. Evidently, it is a team of distinguished  personalities whom Soludo needs to pave a roadmap with which he, like the great physicist - Galileo Galilei - will gain "a place to stand, to stop the sun and move the earth" for a new Anambra.

Indeed, the new economic renaissance which the erudite economist promises Ndi Anambra requires the stopping of the sun to move the earth. Yes, it's time to breach some conventions if the smart mega city promised Ndi Anambra must be achieved.

Going by the composition of Soludo's  transition team, one can see brilliant rays of the revolutionary moves required to transit the state from the norms to the extraordinary.

You cannot have the gathering of the likes of Dr Oby Ezekwesili, a world bank product and political activist cum disciplinarian,  Prof Pat Utomi, a globally acclaimed political economist, Chief Osita Chidioka, and array of other public titans drawn from the academia, industry, business, politics and public administration, without giving the governor elect a sound footing to take off on his blueprint for transforming Anambra. In fact, Ezekwesili summarily put it in her acceptance letter, "I have accepted and will teamwork with my distinguished colleagues to help achieve his transition goals and  competent governance".

Anambra cannot match the Dubai's of this world with an aggregation of political jobbers around the governor-elect especially on assignments that require professionalism.

That's not to say that the politicians and other supporters shall be totally abandoned by the incoming governor, but like our people would say in local parlance, ekele órú  eke (there's division of labour).

SOLUDO'S TAKE-OFF: A CRACK TEAM KICK-STARTS ANAMBRA'S TRANSITION TO SMART MEGA CITY - by Okey Emmanuel

SOLUDO'S TAKE-OFF: A CRACK TEAM KICK-STARTS ANAMBRA'S TRANSITION TO SMART MEGA CITY

By Okey Emmanuel

The journey to the much awaited smart mega city promised to Ndi Anambra by Prof Soludo, the Anambra Governor elect, shall be taking off with the inauguration of a transition committee to be chaired by Dr Oby Ezekwesiri.

In a media release signed by Mr Joe Anatune - a member of the committee and the Media Assistant to the Anambra Gov Elect, Chukwuma Soludo Secretariat - the committee shall be inaugurated on Wednesday, January 20, 2022.

The 80-man committee comprising of great and successful men of "timber and caliber" from various fields of life cuts across party lines and state of origin. No doubt, the committee is all encompassing.

The release added that the committee members shall be working with other team members that shall be nominated by the Anambra State government.

Reacting to her appointment as the chair of the committee in her verified Twitter handle, Ezekwesili said  "Soludo, wants a solid groundwork for his governance and has asked me to chair his transition committee. I have accepted and  will teamwork with my distinguished colleagues to help achieve his transition goals and competent governance."

Also conspicuous in the list are Prof Pat Utomi who hails from Delta State and Chief Osita Chidioka who is a PDP chieftain, among other prominent people from Anambra State. Oby Ezekwesili herself, popularly known as Madan 'Due Process,' is also not from the same political party with Soludo.

From this crack team, there is no doubt that Prof Soludo is poised to actualise his promise of a smart mega city for Anambra state.
