Nwa-afo Igbo
IGBO PROVERBS
Proverb is the oil with which words are eaten in the Igbo Language. Thus, speaking without proverbs in Igbo is like eating a meal cooked without oil.
Unfortunately, most Igbo find it difficult to make a complete sentence in Igbo language without mixing it up with other languages, how much more adding proverbs to their speechs. And
our fathers say that when you make a proverb for man and have to explain the proverb for him, it means that the dowry paid on the man's mother's head is a waste. In simple terms, such a man is an ofeke.

Igbo Nwere Mmadu
FACEBOOK - http://www.facebook.com/Ijerendigbo
A big masquerade needs no introduction. When he
appears at the arena, he is the connoisseur of all eyes. Everyone in the arena
begins to take proper position to catch an apt view of the name that makes the
day's news. Necks stretch and the eye balls enlarge for a clear glimpse.
Igbo nwere mmadu;
big masquerades, larger-than-life
personalities. Their names reverberate anytime they are mentioned - at Akure, Kafanchan, Ikot-Ekpene, Fernando
Po, Holland - their names ring a bell. Wherever they lift their feet, they
command attention.
Their achievements have marked them out of the
crowd. They have indelible footprints in the sands of time. They make Nd'Igbo
proud in Nigeria, nay, the world over.
Igbo nwere mmadu. Personalities that are richly
endowed. Their impacts in the development of Nigeria are to a large extent
responsible to what we have today as the Giant of Africa. From the days of Lord
Lugard to the days of MacPherson, from Independent to computer-age Nigeria,
they are pace-setters of Nigeria History.
Igbo nwere mmadu. In governance, arts, science,
academia, economics, industry, trade, music, sports, name them; Nd'Igbo are
trail blazers.
This compendium of biographies attempts to chronicle
these larger-than-life personalities, Igbos that epitomize “the metamorphosis
of 20 pounds”, the life theorem that Nd'Igbo taught the world after the
Biafran-Nigeria war.
It is a celebration of the men that bestrode the
nation like mythical figures; men like Galileo who stopped the sun and moved
the earth; men that have ruled their space and the world gave them their place.
Let's celebrate them. Kilibe Ijele Nd’Igbo!
