NOVEMBER: A MONTH TO CHANGE GEAR AND CRUISE IN ANAMBRA - Umunnakwe

"REJOICE NDI ANAMBRA: NOVEMBER IS THE MONTH TO CHANGE GEAR AND CRUISE ON SOLUTION EXPRESSWAY" - Hon Jude Umunnakwe

By Okey Emmanuel ODEWAIWAI

Hon Jude Umunnakwe, SSA to Gov Soludo on Political Mobilization, has described November as the month to change gear for a cruising life in Anambra. The Orumba South popular politician stated this while welcoming the month of November in a company of some associates in his home.

According to Ogbuehi - as Umunnakwe is popularly known among his peers - November 2025 is a historic month in Anambra, a month when Ndî Anambra shall renew their contract with their revolutionary leader, Gov Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
"I have been anxiously and expectantly waiting to witness this month. It means a lot to me. Anambra shall be marking another milestone in their political life this November. For me it's a month of changing gear for a cruising life with our god-sent leader, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo", Chief Umunnakwe said.

When asked why he is so confident that things would be a lot better in Soludo's second tenure, Ogbuehi had this to say:
"Gov Soludo is one man that has never said what he cannot do. I have heard him say in various fora that all he had done in his first tenure are mere preparatory grounds to what he set out to do in Anambra. And if all these great feats that he achieved in the first tenure are mere intro, I can tell you that Ndî Anambra are going into the proverbial African Dubai-Taiwan in his second tenure", Umunnakwe declared. He further described Soludo's developmental feats as "Solution Expressway".

Welcoming the new month of November, Ogbuehi told his friends, colleagues, associates and admirers to receive the month with happiness and joy. According to him, embracing November with happiness - as a penultimate month of the year - shall lead us to that most joyful month of December when we shall close the year with shout of Hallelujah!

In his closing prayer, he asked God for a very peaceful election and smooth transition to a new tenure for Governor Soludo. He also asked God to keep all his friends, colleagues, associates, and indeed every Anambra person alive to witness the end of the year in good life and happiness.

ON THE ORUMBA SOUTH APGA CAMPAIGN COUNCIL

HON JUDE UMUNNAKWE AND THE TASK BEFORE ORUMBA SOUTH CAMPAIGN COUNCIL IN SECURING OVERWHELMING VICTORY FOR GOV SOLUDO

By Okey Emmanuel ODEWAIWAI

I have known Hon Jude Umunnakwe for some years and, honestly, I  admire his zeal and doggedness towards achieving political goals.

I met Ogbuehi - as he is fondly addressed by his admirers - today in a function. I walked straight to him and got audience to have a chat with him on some issues, especially with regards to Orumba South politics. My discussions with him endeared me the more to him as he bared his mind on some political stunts necessary in giving our Solution governor, Mr Ólûatûegwû, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo a resounding victory come Nov 8, 2025.

Excerpt:

*Odewaiwai* - Great day Honourable.
*Umunnakwe* Greetings Odewaiwai. You're here! Hope you are enjoying this occasion?

*Odewaiwai* - Fine Chief. I know you are having a very busy schedule now especially as the Anambra Nov 8 Gubernatorial election approaches.
*Umunnakwe* - Sure! We have a tough challenge facing us now with regards to the election - not just to deliver Mr Governor in Orumba South but to give him resounding victory. We need to win, if possible, in all the polling units, not just the wards. I can tell you it's not a walk in the park and so it requires walking round the clock.

*Odewaiwai* - I saw that the Orumba South APGA Campaign Council just had their inaugural meeting. How did it go?
*Umunnakwe* - It went well. Most of the stakeholders attended the meeting. That shows you how seriously every right thinking APGA stakeholder takes the election. Our leaders made speeches, each emphasizing the importance of the election in our LG.

*Odewaiwai* - You keep emphasizing *the importance of the Nov 8 election". What exactly makes it very important, or are you afraid of losing to the opposition?
*Umunnakwe* - Not all! If it's about the opposition winning in Orumba South we will all go and sleep. Even without any single campaign in Orumba South, Ólûatûegwû will win in our local government. I told you earlier that we want to give Mr Governor a resounding victory especially in Orumba South. Remember that election is like going out for hunting. After every hunting expedition, you come back to share the booties. What you get from the booties depends on the quantity and size of the game that you killed.

*Odewaiwai* - (interjected). So, in this case, what is the governor going to share at the end of the day?
*Umunnakwe* - Odewaiwai you are asking me? Don't you know that the number of political appointments and democracy dividends that you get depends, one way or the other, on the number of votes which a region gives the governor. Yes, Mr Governor remembered Orumba South very well in the last appointments and in the infrastructural developments. But we need a lot more. You know this Oliver Twist thing happens to us in politics.
(_Laughter_)

*Odewaiwai* - I read the appreciation letter from Hon Cyprian Okereke, the Orumba South LGA Campaign Chairman. In the letter, he praised the roles played by the various stakeholders in the said inauguration meeting. In your own case, he praised you in a special way for bringing foods and drinks in the meeting. What actually motivated you to go this extra mile?
*Umunnakwe* - Odewaiwai I wish you can enter my heart and see how desirous I am to get Orumba South score highest for Gov Soludo among other LGs in this election. Before the meeting, which I considered very crucial, I knew the attendees will be exhausted after long deliberations. I also knew that when people are going home from such brainstorming session the mood with which they go will affect their determination to implement decisions reached. So I decided to take the challenge of refilling them after the meeting. Mark you, nobody asked me to do this, and I didn't beg anybody to assist me. What I did was my little token to appreciate everyone that attended.

*Odewaiwai* - You are the Senior Special Assistant to Gov Soludo on Political Mobilization, how set is your party in mobilizing every electorate for APGA.
*Umunnakwe* - Well, there's no way I can explain it here. Gov Soludo's extra-ordinary performance in every aspect of governance in Anambra is already speaking for him. Remember that it was a man in the village that nicknamed him Ólûatûegwû. He has touched the life of every onyé Anambra one way or the other. But that not withstanding, we are leaving now stone unturned to get Ndî Anambra return Mr Solution - even much more than they did in the first election that brought him to government house. Just watch and see.

*Odewaiwai* - With this encouraging words - Watch and See - I thank you, Ogbuehi for this wonderful time with you.
 *Umunnakwe* - Thank you, Odewaiwai.

HUMILITY, LOYALTY AND COMPASSION - ONYENDOZI'S TRADEMARKS AS A PUBLIC PERSON

HUMILITY, LOYALTY AND COMPASSION - ONYENDOZI'S TRADEMARKS AS A PUBLIC PERSON
By Okey Emmanuel

Many have wondered why the person, Engr Prince Promise Nnanyelugo Ike, aka Onyendozi, endears himself to every man that comes his way. So many have expressed surprise why they quickly fell in love with him even while meeting him for the very first time in their lives.

Truth is that humans are generally modelled by the combination of nature and nurture - two forces which build up human character. One's character in turn determines his acceptability to people.

For the character, Onyendozi, he's naturally imbued with the rare trait of humility/meekness - one of the qualities dictated by God in the Bible that must characterize the righteous (see Galatians 5:22-23). Many have struggled to wear the toga of "humility" but for people like Onyendozi, it runs in their blood. Little wonder the APGA National Chairman, Ozonkpu Victor Ike Oye, while meeting him for the first time described him as a man full of humility.

The Bible is not mistaking when it declares humility as a desired fruit of the spirit. For it is humility that begets other virtues such as loyalty, love and care for others. These in turn are the hallmarks of a public servant.

Indeed, no one can truly serve others without humility. No one can truly serve without having compassion for others who are in need.  Again, no one can serve without being loyal to those who called him into the duty.

As we prepare to choose those who would go for us to the Federal House of Representatives, let us remember to choose the ones with God-given virtues for service. Onyendozi is one you can count. So many people have borne witness to that. The spirit of loyalty and compassion will make him care for the people that send him - Ndi Orumba - both North and South. He's already caring through his Prince Onyendozi Foundation.

Well educated, well exposed, well cultured: Onyendozi is well equiped to represent Orumba people at the green chamber of the Federal House of Representatives.

2023: REMEMBERING HOW SOME TODAY'S APGA ASPIRANTS NEARLY KILLED APGA 6 MONTHS AGO

It was my hero of the century, the great Ikemba, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu that titled one of his legendary books, "Because I Am Involved".

Yes, about 6 months ago, yours truly was involved in the media garrison - a war trench of some sort - waging political war with the pen to enthrone the people's choice, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, one generally believed would turn our dear state, Anambra, to a smart megacity. The same war contributed in saving APGA as a political party in Anambra, nay Nigeria.

The opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC, was stiff and dirty fighting, not just to stop Soludo, but to uproot and cast into abyss the party that backed him up - the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA. The overall intention was to kill the party to pave way for the total takeover of Anambra state by APC. They employed all sorts of treachery to decimate APGA and a lot of APGA Judas Iscariot were handy in partnering with them in executing this dirty job. Some of them are today struggling to fly APGA flag in the 2023 general elections!

First, they came through a coup d'etat  using a political stooge in the person of one obscure Jude Okeke to take over the leadership of APGA. The intention was to use the stooge to dissolve APGA like the chemist's caustic soda. Through legal ambushments, and many other maneuvers, they tried to force this make-believe through the throats of various electoral stakeholders. But God was with APGA.

The political quagmire that resulted made many believe that a requiem mass had been conducted for APGA. Consequently, many lily hearted members of the party started throwing away APGA membership card and replacing same with APC card. In the words of one political reporter, "Anambra APGA betrayers started purchasing APC broom to smash the APGA ókúkó".

For those of us that remained with APGA, we were booed, ridiculed and jeered. We were meant to look stupid, like one pursuing a shadow. And for once, I saw a physical resemblance of what it was when Jesus' disciples deserted him on the way to calvary. I remember one of my media colleagues asking me, "Okey, what hope do you still have in Jessie - why not 'to your tent O' Israel'?" But I have an unquenchable love for Soludo and un-negotiable faith in his capacity to lead Anambra to a model city.

Secondly, Senator Andy Uba painted a beautiful picture of a prepaid election result in favour of APC for the Anambra governorship race. This was the greatest killer joker, which many bought line, hook and sinker; the result of which was a skyrocketing rise in the cost of brooms in Anambra those dreadful days. Yes, there was a mad rush for acquisition of APC broom by many APGA senior members to sweep away APGA presence in Anambra. Many of today's aspirants under APGA were in this group. They threw caution to the wind and seized the political microphone to persuade Ndi Anambra that an end had come for APGA, and that all roads should lead to the center (APC). This happened just six months ago. The result is now history.

With the collosal fall of Senator Andy Uba, better put in Senator Emordi's words: "Andy dáchára chilie úkwú enu", most of his disciples had now rushed back to APGA to contest for the various houses of Assembly (both in the state and at the federal).

I have these questions for them, and I think APGA screening committee members (as well as the delegates in the forthcoming primaries) should ask them same question:
(1) If these aspirants had succeeded in killing APGA (just 6 months ago), from which APGA would they have been buying its ticket?
(2) They celebrated their decamping to APC amidst funfair and ridicule to APGA (about 6 months ago), what ceremony brought them back to APGA?
(3) What have they done to convince Ndi APGA (and of course Ndi Anambra - knowing that APGA bú nké ányí) that they have repented, if at all they have repented?
(4) How can they convince us that if they gain victory to the House of Assembly (federal or state) that they cannot easily throw away APGA card and join their role models in APC, in their quest to join "the centre"? This is following the fact that, for now, the centre they have been salivating for is the domain of APC.
(5) What moral justification do they have in contesting with their fellow aspirants who stood firm in APGA when they were fighting to destroy the party?

I love the classical quote of Helen Keller, American author, rights advocate and political  activist: "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved."

I think that APGA screening committee, and the delegates in the forthcoming primaries, should be guided by this great saying. Those who cannot be trusted in the days of trials and suffering have serious character defect. And those who think character can be developed in ease and quiet are playing with fire.

A word, they say, is enough for the wise.

ONYENDOZI ORUMBA: WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT HIM

It was Augustine Wilberforce that was quoted as saying:  "If you plan to build a tall house of virtues, you must first lay deep foundations of humility."

Indeed, both nature and nurture have teamed up to build a tall house of virtues  in the man, Prince Engr Promise Nnanyelugo Ike, popularly known as Onyendozi.

For purpose of introduction, Onyendozi is a vibrant young man, holds bachelor degree in Engineering (Anambra State University Uli), has a very successful business empire in China and Lagos in which God has blessed him. With his financial capacity, he set up a NGO (Prince Onyendozi Foundation) with which he has impacted lives of youths through various forms of empowerment, conducted medical outreaches in which people from the 15 communities in Orumba South benefitted. He has also built houses for widows, and supplied a mountainous quantum of foodstuffs to people during the COVID 19 pandemic. All these have live proof.

Several personalities have described Onyendozi with various virtues - unique qualities which have combined in building a strong character in this leading aspirant for the Federal House of Representatives Orumba North and South Federal Constituency.   Now, read down and hear what people say about Onyendozi:

 1. OZONKPU VICTOR IKE OYE (APGA National Chairman):
"Onyendozi is Full of humility" --- . The APGA chieftain described Onyendozi as a man full of humility. He said this when Onyendozi and his teaming supporters visited him recently in his Amawbia home to declare his intention to run for the office of Federal House of Representatives, Orumba North and South, Anambra State. It was so surprising to many that while meeting Onyendozi one on one for the first time in his life, the APGA national Chairman did not waste time in spotting this peculiar virtue in Onyendozi. Yes, humility is a natural part of Onyendozi's lifestyle.

 2. CHIEF FESTUS ALUKWE (OMEUDO), Orumba North APGA Local Government Chairman.
"Onyendozi chapúrú áchâpú" -  At the local government secretariat while receiving Onyendozi with other APGA officials at Ward and Local Government levels when he (Onyendozi) came to present himself to the leaders of the party, the party Chairman described him by saying: Onyendozi chapúrú áchâpú. This literally means that he, Onyendozi, is outstanding.

3. A HIGHLIFE MAESTRO -
"Onyendozi is Oji únó émé ógó" The celebrated Highlife chief, while praising Onyendozi in one of his releases, nicknamed Onyendozi as Ójí ûnó émé ógó. The musician probably has heard of Onyendozi's philanthropic feats which includes building house for widows.

  4. ONYENDOZI'S FATHER.
"Onyendozi is very homely" --  While responding to journalists in an interview, shortly after visiting the APGA National Chairman, Onyendozi's father, Chief Caleb Ike - Onowu of Ezira Kingdom - described his son as a very homely man. According to him, Onyendozi is always concerned about situations at home both at family and community levels. This, he added, is probably why he is always concerned about the state of people - especially the needy - in the communities.

5. EZIRA APGA Ward Chairman
"Onyendozi is Very Reachable" - . For Ezira APGA Ward  Chairman, Onyendozi is very reachable. Speaking to other APGA stakeholders from Orumba South LG and the Wards while presenting Onyendozi to them, the party leader said the aspirant is someone who you can always reach. According to him, Onyendozi does not carry himself in that class-manner often seen in many politicians. He is someone you can share your concerns with if gets there.

6. PRESIDENT GENERAL, EZIRA TOWN:
"Onyendozi is very Humane". Describing the humane nature of Onyendozi, the PG gave instances of how he helped the needy in the community. According to the PG, these are people who are not related to him in any way. The PG gave instance of a widow in their community whom Onyendozi sited her thatched house and was moved to build a decent bungalow for her. The PG also recalled how Onyendozi in Year 2020, amidst the COVID hazards in the nation went ahead to execute his planned Free Medical Outreach to the 15 communities in the Local Government.

7.  CHIEF (SIR) SENATOR VICTOR UMEH.
"Onyendozi is a Promising Young Man" -  The former APGA National Chairman said this while meeting with Onyendozi when he came to submit his Expression of Interest Form at APGA National office, Abuja.

With these crowd of witnesses from outstanding personalities, there's no doubt that Onyendozi is very fit and qualified to represent Orumba North and South in Federal House of Representatives. He has the character. He has the pedigree.
